Fusion Rock

Fusion Rock is a type of rock that involves mixing rock with other musical styles including classical and jazz.

Historical Context
Although it's hard to determine when rock fusion started, the earliest examples of this style would be from the late 1960s.
An example of rock music mixing with other genres of music is Rock and Classical. Rock music and classical music might seem like they would be completely opposite to one another, but there are a surprisingly large number of instances where these two genres cross over.

Characteristics of the style
Fusion Rock uses characteristics of rock as well as blended elements of other genres of music like classical music, jazz, R & B and pop music.
Usually, most rock fusion songs are like typical rock songs, except the will have an extra instrument from another genre or a characteristic of another genre.

Artists and bands
- Chicago is an American rock band that combines rock with jazz and classical chamber music.
--> If you leave me now
- Valhalore is a band that combines heavy metal and folk.
--> Across the frozen ocean.
--> Legacy

- U2 also uses some elements of classical and chamber in their music.
--> Beautiful day

Impact of style
Fusion rock had the biggest impact on instrumentation. This style of rock music allowed artists and bands to include elements and instruments from other musical genres. It allowed artists to branch out and not restrict their work.
