I chose to do a cover of "Chandelier" by Sia because I really like the catchy melody and I thought it would be cool to have another instrument play the melody. The main features I chose to change in my cover were duration and structure because I felt I could change these to make the cover unique and different to the original to give the piece a whole new feeling. I also explored tone colour and texture.

The main changes in my arrangement included the tempo of the piece, the instrumentation. Both these elements created a smoother, calmer sound compared to the upbeat original. 

The original piece has Vocals, bass, synth and percussion(drums). In my arrangement, I used violin as the melody(so no lyrics), Guitar as bass, and a keyboard part as the harmony/choral part. As a result, this impacted the tone colour significantly.

My performance of this arrangement was recorded in GarageBand and I multi-tracked each instrumental part straight into garage band. 

Although I didn't use a lot of effects in GarageBand, I played around with the volume of my different recordings. 

In the final stages of editing, I also adjusted some things to make sure that all the parts were the right volume.
